Facebook Pages
Over the past few weeks Facebook has been making many changes to the way it displays content on its site. For anyone interested in creating a page to display their business or topic the matter can be reasonably straight forward, or a little more complex and time consuming with the integration of a ‘like-us’ or Fan page with graphics and content. It all depends on who you wish to attract!
This months Ycademy seminar which I attended focused on setting up a more complex WP based Facebook Page that defines a business or topic, depending on each of the participants interests.
Facebook FanPage
As mentioned above the FB page can be just a simply process of a click that brings up a new page that can be dedicated to a certain interest. The more complex FanPage is one where the contact first sees a ‘reveal page’ with content and/or graphic to attract the visitor who then needs to click on the LIKE button to see what more there is on offer.
The argument here is ‘how do we know we LIKE something if we don’t know what it is’. A valid point! Therefore the ‘reveal page’ must be of the highest calibre to convey the true meaning of what is beneath. Fans also do have the possibility to ‘UNLIKE’ if they do not like what they get. If your topic is weightloss then the content of your fan page must be of the quality to keep your fans interested.
My new custom Facebook Fanpage ‘Photos‘ is still in it’s first draft phase and so far only the reveal page is there, although if you like what you see so far do give it a click, it will be appreciated. With grandchildren around it’s not always easy to find time to finish things in one hit.
Web Design on Facebook
My Facebook Web Design page that I had previously created still stands, although other pages have suffered the Facebook changes and have had to be removed. I understand there will still be more changes on Facebook coming our way, so we just have to wait and see.
