Campaigns and Strategies
The promotion of any business requires a few simple steps.
Firstly there is the 'advertising' campaign, your advertising message. Most online businesses provide you with the material to get the message across to your audience in the form of a website or fast loading splash/capture page, and often added tools like banners and text ads in various shapes and sizes.
Once you have the promotional material your campaign consists of displaying this material to an audience over a period of time.
Now comes the strategy, deciding the how and where to target your audience – using marketing methods like traffic exchanges, search engine marketing, e-mail marketing, affiliate marketing, interactive advertising, and also Social Media Marketing Methods such as blog marketing, and viral marketing.
Political campaigns are orchestrated in very much the same way. eg: Obama and Clinton in the Presendial elections are organised in such a way to influence the choice of the electorate in the same way as a marketing campaign to influence consumers.
Once a campaign is on its way then data is collected on a daily basis – the statistics - to ascertain whether one method is proving more effective than another. In online marketing trackers are used such as google analytics to provide the daily results.
