Hosepipe ban in Essex
Mention a hosepipe ban and down comes the rain. Every since the hosepipe ban was announced we have had rain nearly every day. Rain, hail, downpours, thunder claps and the rain-butt is overflowing. It’s April, the month of April showers so maybe it’s to be expected.
Heavy downpours on the garden
We have had so little rain here over the past few months so the land is dry even after a heavy downpour. Dig deeper than the first inch or so and you see the ground is very dry, but the gardens and all the plants are absolutely loving all this rain. The farmers too who have been struggling with their crops are breathing a sigh of relief. Let’s hope we get more rain to refill the reservoirs too which have been at their lowest levels. We don’t like the rain, but we do need it. Rain at night and sun during the day would be ideal.
Spring flowers in the garden
Crocuses are one of those early spring flowers that you can find in the garden, parks a hedgerows. Pretty cup-shaped flowers, although the shape can vary depending on the variety, and come in a wide variety of colours. They grow from corms and brighten up a dull border in the garden.

DOES THE HOSE PIPE BAN COVER HOCKLEY AND HULLBRIDGE
Hi Peter
it all depends on which water authority you come under,
and even then which section of that you come under.
You can find more details here:

We have installed water butts which help with watering in a dry spell.
Have a wonderful day!
